Baptism

Baptism is a powerful step of faith and a public declaration of your decision to follow Jesus Christ. It symbolizes spiritual rebirth, the forgiveness of sins, and the new life we have in Christ. As you go under the water, it represents leaving your old life behind; as you rise, it reflects the new life God has given you, filled with purpose, hope, and His transforming power. While baptism does not save us, it is an act of obedience that demonstrates our faith and commitment to Christ. We would be honored to celebrate this life-changing moment with you as you take your next step in your walk with Jesus.

Baptism FAQs

Why Should I Be Baptized?
Baptism is an act of obedience and a public declaration of your faith in Jesus Christ. By being baptized, you are following Jesus' example and His command to every believer. (Matthew 3:16–17; Matthew 28:19–20)
What Does Baptism Represent?
Water baptism is an outward expression of an inward transformation. It declares that:
  • ✝️ You have chosen to follow Jesus. (Acts 2:41)

  • 🌊 Your old life is gone, and you are living a new life in Christ. (Romans 6:4)

  • ❤️ You are part of God's family. (Galatians 3:26–27)

I've Already Been Baptized. Should I Be Baptized Again?
If your previous baptism followed your personal decision to trust Christ, there is no need to be baptized again. However, if you were baptized before making that decision or before fully understanding its meaning, you may choose to be baptized as a public declaration of your faith.
Why Don't We Baptize Babies?
At The Father's House, we practice Baby Dedications rather than infant baptism.
We believe baptism is a personal decision made by someone who understands the Gospel and has chosen to follow Jesus. Baby dedication is a parent's commitment to raise their child in a Christ-centered home and follows biblical examples such as Samuel and Jesus being presented to the Lord.

When Can Children Be Baptized?
We gladly baptize children when they are able to:
  • Understand the Gospel

  • Personally place their faith in Jesus

  • Explain their decision in their own words

  • Understand the meaning of baptism

While every child is different, this typically begins around 7–8 years old. Each child is lovingly evaluated through conversation and pastoral guidance before baptism.
